Continua il mistero di Anarchy Reigns e della sua localizzazione per il mercato occidentale. Un mistero che potrebbe danneggiare i rapporti tra Sega e gli sviluppatori Platinum Games. Proprio questi ultimi il mese scorso annunciarono che i lavori sul gioco (localizzazione compresa) erano terminati ma che Sega aveva improvvisamente tolto il gioco dai suoi listini. Inizialmente previsto per Luglio come per il mercato giapponese, lo status del gioco passò infatti ad un laconico “to be confirmed”.

Oggi tramite Twitter Sega ha confermato che il gioco è atteso in occidente per il primo quadrimestre nel 2013, una soluzione alla quale dovranno rassegnarsi i Platinum Games che tanto puntavano su una release mondiale, soprattutto per la natura multiplayer del titolo.
Sempre Platinum Games infatti su più canali sta sottolineando come il gioco sia interamente localizzato e region free, in modo da incoraggiare i giocatori occidentali ad importare il gioco (in uscita in Giappone il 5 Luglio).

Iniziale dichiarazione di Platinum Games:

“Finally, we break the bad news about Anarchy Reigns US/EU release date – SEGA has decided to change the date to TBC. While our work on the game is finished, localized, and ready to go, as publisher, SEGA gets to make the final decision as to when it is released. The Japanese release date, however, remains unchanged for July 5, 2012.”

La dichiarazione odierna di Sega:

“The release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 of 2013.”

Il commento rassegnato di Platinum Games:

“We worked really hard to make sure that everybody could get the game on time. We really wanted everybody online around the world to play together at the same time but unfortunately that’s not going to happen. In the West Sega is looking for the best time to put it out”

Rincara la dose Atsushi Inaba, noto producer dei Platinum Games:

First of all, we are done with all international versions of Anarchy Reigns, the delay is not due to further development on the game. Also, even though the release dates will be different, the content of both the Japanese and Western versions will be 100 per cent the same. Today’s Q1 2013 release news was the first we’d heard of it. Even if we wanted to, we can’t comment as we’re (still) in the dark officially. There’s some concern that this will push back the Japanese release date. It will not. The game will be released in Japan on 5th July, 2012. Finally, I want to sincerely apologise to all the fans worldwide for all the confusion this situation has caused. Even though we are the game’s developers, we can only do so much about this…
