Praticamente un premio alla carriera quello per Sonic al Golden Joystick Award, il riccio blu si porta a casa l’Outstanding Contribution Award per il suo contributo al mondo dei videogames.
E’ il terzo Golden Joystick Award per Sonic, dopo i primi due vinti nel 2004, come Handheld Game Of The Year (Sonic Advance 3) e The Sun Ultimate Gaming Hero.
