Sega ha annunciato un nuovo album musicale, Technosoft Music Collection – THUNDER FORCE I & II.
L’album sarà composto da 2 CD, per un totale di 56 brani tratti da Thunder Force 1 (versione X1 e PC8801-mkII SR), Thunder Force II (X68000) e Thunder Force II MD (Mega Drive).
Sarà incluso anche un brano bonus arrangiato da Kei Takanishi.
Technosoft Music Collection – THUNDER FORCE I & II uscirà in Giappone il 24 Febbraio al costo di 3520 Yen

Sega ha aggiornato il sito ufficiale dei Sega Ages per Switch svelando il prossimo titolo della collana: Thunder Force AC.
Si tratta della versione arcade di Thunder Force III, che offriva alcuni stage differenti ed un nuovo bilanciamento rispetto all’originale versione Mega Drive.
La versione Sega Ages offrirà come sempre diverse modalità, come l’arcade mode (che ripropone l’esperienza della sala giochi), il kids mode per i giocatori principianti, classifiche online, possibilità si salvare i replay e vedere quelli degli altri, supporto per l’HD rumble e per i filtri video CRT.
In questa versione inoltre sarà possibile selezionare 4 diverse navi: l’originale Fire Leo 03 Styx, la Fire Leo 03MP Styx Mass Product (che compare in Thunder Force IV, che ha in più lo speciale attacco “roll”), la Fire Leo 04 Rynex (ovvero la nave principale di TFIV con il suo set di armi) ed infine la Fire Leo 04 Rynex Thunder Sword (la Rynex equipaggiata con la Thunder Sword, come avviene nelle fasi avanzate di TFIV).

Durante la conferenza sulla Sega 3D Reprint Archives 3 Final Stage, Sega ha annunciato di aver acquisito da Twenty-One Company le licenze dei giochi Tecnosoft, uno dei marchi più importanti per Sega nell’era Mega Drive e Saturn.
Dopo la fine dell’era hardware di Sega, Tecnosoft era stata acquistata nel 2001 da Twenty One Company, un produttore di pachinko, abbandonando così lo sviluppo di videogiochi.
Tra i titoli sviluppati da Tecnosoft ci sono capolavori quali la serie Thunder Force, ancora oggi tra i migliori shoot’em up in circolazione, Herzog Zwei, uno dei primissimi RTS della storia e titoli come Elemental Master, Hyper Duel e tanti altri.
Il primo gioco che beneficierà di questo accordo sarà il porting per 3DS di Thunder Force III che sarà incluso come già annunciato nella Sega 3D Reprint Archives 3.
Twenty-One Company continuerà a distribuire il merchandise legato al brand Tecnosoft (ad esempio CD musicali), il sito ufficiale che contiente anche lo store online è stato rinnovato per l’occasione.

Dalla cofnerenza odierna del TGS 2016, Sega ha annunciato uno dei 3 misteriosi titoli che saranno riproposti nella collection Sega 3D Reprint Archives 3 Final Stage.
Si tratta di Thunder Force III, leggendario shoot’em up dell’epoca 16 bit della Tecnosoft.
Attualmente i titoli annunciati nella collection sono After Burner II, Super Hang-On, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Gunstar Heroes, Streets of Rage 2, Turbo Outrun e Thunder Force III.
